Does he still like me?
It sucks when a guy doesn’t like you. Like – really, really sucks. I recently went through a breakup where a guy dumped me. Or rather, I should say that he just stopped asking me out on dates. He ghosted me. HARD.
He still responds to my texts to be polite, but he has lost interest in me. It hurts. A lot. For months, I tried to convince myself that he liked me.
But the truth is that he has moved on and he doesn’t like me anymore.
It can be hard to tell yourself that guy doesn’t like you anymore, especially if he goes from talking to you daily to just…disappearing without any logical reason. But as the movie line goes, “he’s just not into you.”
Are you asking yourself, “Does he like me or not?” and “Does he still like me?”
Below are five signs that a guy doesn’t like you anymore.
5 Signs He Doesn’t Like You Anymore
You Are Analyzing His Texts – Sign #1 He Doesn’t Like You Back
In the beginning of a relationship, (most) guys are responsive via text. When you text a guy, he will text right back. After a date, a guy will text things like, “I had fun! Can’t wait to see you again!” You will feel confident and assured that he likes you.
A relationship is over the second you start analyzing a guy’s texts with your female friends. It is too late if you are analyzing a guy’s texts.
I know you may be searching for a glimmer of hope that the relationship is going strong. I’m guilty of doing this myself. But the truth is that he’s over you and doesn’t like you anymore.
You Are Asking “Does He Like Me?” – Sign #2 He's Lost Interest
When a guy likes you, you KNOW. Guys make it pretty obvious when they like a girl. If you find yourself asking your friends, “Do you think he likes me?” he probably doesn’t like you.
He may like you as a friend, but he no longer likes you or desires you as a serious girlfriend.
He Stops Asking You Out on Dates – Sign #3 He Doesn’t Want a Relationship with You
When a guy likes you, he will ask you out on dates. He will ask you out to do things. Weekly. Even if he is a super busy business owner or a consultant who travels five days a week, he will find time to see you.
Trust me. A guy will always find time to fit you into his schedule if he likes you.
- A guy will give up poker night.
- He’ll skip a family obligation.
- He’ll stay up late and lose sleep.
- He’ll find a way to meet you for lunch.
- He’ll wake up early to get coffee with you.
If a guy likes you, he will ask you out on dates – no matter how busy he is. If he stops pursuing you and asking you out, he has lost interest.
He Offers Excuses on Why He CAN’T Hang Out - Sign #4 He Doesn’t Want You Anymore
If a guy offers excuses on why he can’t make time to see you, he is lying. A guy will always find the time (see sign #4 above) to be with a girl that he likes. There’s no such thing too busy.
“Sorry – I can’t hang out tonight.”
If you ask a guy out and he comes up with an excuse on why he can’t see you, it is just that – an excuse. He is no longer interested in you. This is especially true if he offers an excuse without offering an alternative time/date.
If a guy declines an offer to hang out, but offers a definitive alternative – then he may still like you. Saying, “Sorry I can’t hang out tonight. Let’s do something soon!” does NOT mean he likes you. This is him gently blowing you off. Unless he sets a time and a date to see you, he is gently trying to let you know that he is no longer interested.
You Don’t Know His Friends – Sign #5 He Doesn’t Like You Back
If a guy likes you, he will invite you out to meet him and his friends. He will want to show you off.
- If he is out for a drink with his guy friend, he will invite you to join him sometimes.
- If he has poker night but another guy brings his girlfriend, he will invite you to come along.
Trust me. A guy will invite you to join him for football night, poker night, BBQ and wings with the guys, a baseball game, or…whatever guy night it is. Guys want to be with you at the beginning of a relationship.
If you haven’t met his friends, he just isn’t into you.
