10 Cheap Date Ideas in Atlanta, GA
Below are 10 cheap date ideas in Atlanta that are FUN and not boring.
1. Go on a Scavenger Hunt Along the Beltline
Pick up one of the Clue Town scavenger hunt books at Citizen Supply (on the second floor of Ponce City Market) and go on a scavenger hunt along the Beltline.
Is the Beltline too crowded for you? Get the one for the Oakland Cemetery.
2. Grab an Alcoholic Slushy and Play Ping Pong at Victory
Victory (the one in Inman Park) is a casual, low-key, fun vibe bar with delicious alcoholic slushies. They have a ping pong table too, which is usually available.
Plus, Victory has cheap sandwiches (under $6!) and their Whiskey Coke Slushies are only $8 for a large.
3. Get Tacos at Velvet Taco in Midtown
Velvet Taco in West Midtown has DELICIOUS tacos. Plus, all the tacos are quite large, so 1-2 is enough.
If you are willing to spend more money, go play mini golf at Puttshack or walk across the romantic bridge to Jeni’s for ice-cream.
4. Hike the East Palisades Trail
The East Palisades Trail is the best (in my opinion!) hiking trail inside the city. It’s only 20 minutes from Midtown/Buckhead area and is well shaded.
If you don’t get lost hiking, you can get a GREAT view of the Chattahoochee river (a romantic place for a kiss!) and wander around the amazing Bamboo forest.
Make sure to put “CRNRA – East Palisades Unit – Whitewater Trail” into your GPS to take you to the right place.
5. Go on a Picnic in the Park
Piedmont Park is BUSY on the weekends in Atlanta, and for good reason. It’s so stunning!
Pack a blanket and then grab food and wine at Trader Joe’s for a picnic in the park. Bring playing cards and your Bluetooth speaker to play some chill music while you enjoy your picnic.
6. Check Out a Local Festival and Get King of Pops
Atlanta has TONS of festivals going on in the summer and fall.
Check out Discover Atlanta to find festivals that are going on.
If it’s hot outside, look for a Kind of Pops stand. Their popsicles are delicious and you’ll be supporting a local Atlanta business.
7. Search Groupon for Zoo Tickets
Groupon has deals to Atlanta attractions, including the zoo.
Even if Groupon doesn’t have a coupon, you could pay for the zoo (around $30 per ticket) or find a different Groupon that catches your eye.
Just DON’T do Centennial Park or the Coke Museum. They are both overrated.
8. Play Games at Ormsby’s
Ormby’s is a fun bar with pool, ring toss, and Bocce. Get a drink and then have fun playing games with your date!
If you REALLY want to be cheap, search Atlanta for free Bocce courts.
9. Play the FREE Games at Painted Duck
Painted Duck is a bowling alley in Midtown with duckpin bowling, but they actually have a lot of great FREE games.
Challenge your date to a game of Belgian Feather Bowling or Knuckleball.
10. Get Dessert at Café Intermezzo
Café Intermezzo is a GREAT date spot. They have alcoholic coffee beverages and HUGE dessert cakes.
For under $40 you and your date can each get a drink and split a delicious dessert.
Tip for a Great Date: Dress up, as this place has a romantic vibe and make sure to scout out the parking situation ahead of time, as the Midtown location doesn’t have its own parking lot.
Bonus Cheap Date Idea in Atlanta
Want one more cheap date idea?
If your apartment complex has a pool, ask your date if she/he wants to hang out at the pool for an afternoon date.
Feel free to ask friends to join in the fun too and plan for an evening BBQ.
